About Stay Groovy Creations

EMBRACING ARTISTRY

Our Artistic Process

Stay Groovy Creations, led by O’Hara Kamis, creates bold, soulful art from paintings to custom painted shoes and accessories using rich textures, recycled materials, and gold leaf. Each piece celebrates nature, culture, and individuality with vibrant, meaningful storytelling.

Artist Biography

I’m O’Hara Kamis, a self-taught Canadian artist and the creator behind Stay Groovy Creations. My art blends psychedelic surrealism, feminine energy, and vibrant color, often featuring acrylic, oil, and real gold leaf on large-scale or multi-panel canvases. While my signature style leans toward expressive, surrealist portraits, I’ve also completed realistic dog portraits and custom commissions, which I love collaborating with clients to bring their visions to life!

My work is influenced by my Lebanese heritage, my lifelong love for color, and my background in science. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Biology (UVic) and a Master’s in Sustainable Forest Management (UBC), which often show up in my nature-inspired pieces.

The name Stay Groovy Creations comes from my younger years, friends calling me “O Groovy” for my bubbly, fun-loving energy, and that spirit continues to shine through in every piece I create.

Whether it's a vibrant surrealist portrait, a bold abstract landscape, a realistic pet commission, or a one-of-a-kind custom piece, my art is rooted in color, storytelling, and meaningful collaboration, and always created with that signature groovy magic!
