About O’Hara Kamis
I’m O’Hara Kamis, the artist behind Stay Groovy Creations. My work explores emotion, femininity, and identity through bold colour, high contrast, and a blend of realism and abstraction. I’m drawn to creating pieces that feel immersive and symbolic—portraits and scenes that hold both softness and strength.

My Lebanese heritage and a deep love of colour influence my visual language, while my background as an environmental scientist shapes how I notice patterns, atmosphere, and the quiet intelligence of the natural world. Whether a piece leans surreal, minimal, or nature-forward, I aim for work that feels alive and instantly magnetic.
Artistic Journey
My creative path has been built through curiosity and long-term consistency. While I’m self-taught, art has been a constant throughout my life—from early classes and school electives to years of independent study, experimentation, and skill-building through repetition.

In the studio, I work intuitively. I might start with a plan, but I let the piece evolve as new ideas emerge. I follow what the work is asking for—shifts in mood, composition, and energy—until it arrives at something that feels complete and honest.

Experience
I maintain an active studio practice and have created work for a wide range of collectors and clients. My experience includes original artworks, custom commissions, and design-based projects—each approached with clear communication, attention to detail, and a strong finish quality.

I’ve participated in juried exhibitions, art markets, and live painting events across Alberta and British Columbia. I also support creative community spaces through behind-the-scenes volunteering, and I approach every project with full dedication—thoughtful collaboration, careful execution, and work that feels personal and top quality.
Community & Values
Community matters deeply to me. I strive to connect with the artists around me, grow and learn together, and build relationships that expand our horizons. Whenever I can, I share support through encouragement, resources, and recommendations—because I believe we all rise when we uplift each other!
