The Groovy Creative Process
Led by O’Hara Kamis, Stay Groovy Creations brings together acrylic and oil paintings, hand-illustrated digital portraits, and custom-painted shoes and bags. My work is influenced by the way I see the world through science and spirit—nature, relationships, and the emotions and energies that move through my life. I paint intuitively, guided by colour, contrast, and texture, and I pour my heart into every piece, creating original concepts designed to be unforgettable.
Artist Biography
I’m O’Hara Kamis, a Canadian visual artist and the creator behind Stay Groovy Creations. My work blends psychedelic surrealism, feminine energy, and bold colour, with a focus on pieces that feel emotional, alive, and intuitive. I primarily work in acrylic and oil, often incorporating gold leaf into large-scale canvases and multi-panel work.
My practice is shaped by my Lebanese heritage, a lifelong love of colour, and a science-trained way of observing the natural world. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Biology from UVic and a Master’s in Sustainable Forest Management from UBC, and that foundation often finds its way into my landscapes and nature-inspired pieces.
Alongside original paintings, I also create custom commissions, wearable art, and hand-illustrated digital portraits—each made with care, intention, and personality.
